Deliberate Luxury

Aviva Stanoff’s roots run deep. A hometown nestled between the beach and old growth redwoods, childhood summers spent tending flowers around her grandfather’s Buddhist temple in Japan, and over 15 years working in the design industry in New York City form the natural and cultural tapestry of her aesthetic. Her reverence of nature, respect for Japanese tradition, and affinity for urban life shape the refined complexity inherent in her work.

While completing her MFA in applied textile design at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Stanoff spent a summer in NYC working nights designing runway textiles while interning during the day at Calvin Klein Home. By graduation, Stanoff’s designs for Calvin Klein were on the store shelves, and her runway work earned her a mention in Vogue. Upon graduation, she continued to focus on fashion, designing textiles for top fashion houses in New York, London, and Paris. Clients included: Christian Dior, Givenchy Couture, and Donna Karan, among others. In 2004, Aviva launched her own line of home accessories. Her products were noted as a “Best Bet” by the New York Times in her inaugural season. Using her signature printing technique, she created a collection of artful, hand-made works with soul. Aviva’s work is known for her combination of sophistication and subtlety. Each one-of-a-kind concept is hand-crafted with unwavering attention to design and detail as traditional embellishments meet cutting-edge textile treatments exclusive to her design studio. Her deliberate luxury is seen in her unique made-to-order products, sold internationally in high-end retail boutiques, department stores, and interior designer showrooms. She has travels the world cool hunting, buying, and developing beautiful textiles and products not only for her own collection but for clients.

In 2012, Aviva's textile designs were invited to be part of the permanent collection at the Brooklyn Museums' Decorative Arts Textile Collection. She is proud to represent American made luxury textiles. Her work is featured in Nobu restaurants, The Trump Soho, The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, and a number of other contract & hospitality interiors. ABC Home in NYC recently awarded her a Textile Vendor of the Year for the fourth year in a row. She is currently collaborating with, Tiffany’s & Co, The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, Neiman Marcus, Barney’s New York, among others both here in the US, and Internationally. The New York Association has honored her with the Best of the Best in Textiles four times in a row.

Most days you can find Aviva in her new building in SoCal, recently relocated from Brooklyn. She’s been manufacturing in house for the last 10 years. She welcomes studio visits, licensing opportunities, and collaborations with Retailers, Contract and Hospitality Projects, Architects and Interior Designers.
